🚀Getting Started

A guided onboarding journey for new SEAtS ONE customers — from kick-off to go-live.

📋 The basics

SEAtS ONE onboarding runs in four phases. Your SEAtS Project Manager guides you through each — no two go-lives are identical, but every one follows the same structured path.

What's involved
7 setup steps
Grouped into four phases: plan & prepare, onboard your data, configure access, deploy & go live.
Who's involved
3 roles
A SEAtS Project Manager (we provide), your IT lead for SSO, and an internal Admin who will own the platform after go-live.
What gets connected
Data, users, devices
Your student/timetable data via SFTP, your IT users via Azure AD SSO, and any attendance hardware (card readers, beacons, QR codes).

Plan & prepare

Know your products Step 1

Confirm with your SEAtS Project Manager exactly which modules you've subscribed to — Attend, Engage, CRM, Scheduler, SmartSpace, Compliance. Each has its own setup and training material.

Set up SFTP Step 2

SEAtS uses SFTP to receive your data files securely. You'll receive credentials for both production and UAT environments. Set this up before you can upload data.

Onboard your data

Prepare & upload your data Step 3

Student, timetable, room, and module data must arrive in the SEAtS Data Interface format. We provide specification files and sample templates — your IT or data team prepares the exports, then we validate them together.

  • Use the SEAtS Data Interface specification
  • Validate against sample files before first upload
  • Iterate in UAT until data is clean

Configure access

Configure SSO Step 4

Work with your IT team to set up Azure AD authentication before go-live. Single sign-on means no separate SEAtS passwords for staff or students — they use the same credentials they already know.

Designate your Admin Step 5

Identify and train an internal SEAtS Admin — your institution's owner for configuration, user management, workflows, and ongoing tweaks. They'll be your team's first point of contact.

Deploy & go live

6

Deploy attendance devices

If using card readers, iBeacons, or QR codes, your SEAtS team will assist with deployment, mapping rooms to devices, and end-to-end testing across at least one teaching block.

Complete UAT & go live

Run User Acceptance Testing against your UAT plan, sign off, then we cut over to production. From here, your Admin owns the platform and the SEAtS team transitions to ongoing support.
