Getting Started with the Mobile App
Tap to watchChecking in with the SEAtS Mobile App
Use your phone to register attendance — via QR code, GPS, or Bluetooth beacon. Download the SEAtS app and log in with your university credentials.
Viewing Your Attendance Record
Tap to watchViewing your own attendance
Students can log into the SEAtS student portal to see their own attendance record, check for missed sessions, and view any warnings or notifications from your institution.
Submitting an Absence Request
Tap to watchReporting an absence or raising a support request
Need to report a planned absence or get support from a tutor? You can submit a request directly through the SEAtS mobile app or student portal — your institution's team will be notified automatically.
Manually Marking Attendance
Tap to watchManually marking a student's attendance
If a student forgets their card, has a technical issue, or if there's a room change, you can quickly mark attendance manually using the SEAtS app or web portal.
Attendance warning notices are sent early Monday mornings. Manual corrections should be made before then.
Using the Lecturer Mobile App
Tap to watchManaging classes on the go
The SEAtS Lecturer app lets you view your class list, see who has checked in, mark or amend attendance, and generate QR codes for students — all from your phone.
Recording Absences & Activities
Tap to watchRecording absences and scheduled activities
Log approved absences (e.g. medical leave, field trips) for your students so their attendance records and workflow calculations stay accurate.
Setting Up Workflows
Tap to watchConfiguring automated workflows
Workflows automatically monitor student attendance and trigger interventions — emails, stage changes, or case creation — without manual effort.
Managing Access Profiles
Tap to watchUser access & permissions
Control what each user can see and do in SEAtS. Permissions can be set at Faculty, School, Programme, Course, or individual student level — keeping your data secure and relevant.
Configuring Activity & Absence Types
Tap to watchSetting up activity & absence types
Define how different types of absences and scheduled activities behave in workflows — for example, whether medical leave should pause alerts or mark a student as attended.
Getting Started with Data Onboarding
Tap to watchSending data to SEAtS via SFTP
SEAtS receives student, timetable, and room data via a secure SFTP connection. Two accounts are created automatically — one for production, one for UAT testing.
Setting Up SSO with Azure AD
Tap to watchConfiguring Single Sign-On (SSO)
SEAtS supports Azure Active Directory for SSO, so staff and students log in using their existing institutional credentials. No separate password needed.
Deploying Attendance Capture Devices
Tap to watchInstalling attendance capture devices
Card readers, iBeacons, and QR codes all have specific deployment requirements. Network configuration, mounting height, and device placement all affect accuracy.
