Manually marking a student's attendance

Accurate records protect students — a quick manual mark means no unwarranted alerts landing in inboxes.

If a student forgets their card, has a technical issue, or if there's a room change, you can quickly mark attendance manually using the SEAtS app or web portal.

1
Open the SEAtS Lecturer app and tap on the relevant class
2
Find the student and tap to mark them as attended
3
Save changes — ideally before Monday morning when alerts run

Attendance warning notices are sent early Monday mornings. Manual corrections should be made before then.

Sending data to SEAtS via SFTP

Secure, reliable, and encrypted end-to-end — your data gets where it needs to go, safely.

SEAtS receives student, timetable, and room data via a secure SFTP connection. Two accounts are created automatically — one for production, one for UAT testing.

1
Receive your SFTP credentials from your project manager
2
Connect using WinSCP or Fetch with SSH2 key authentication
3
Upload data files in the correct format to the appropriate folders

2
Check power and network (PoE vs wireless) for each room
3
