This guide explains how to determine if an Absence is based on the start or end time of an event based on the type of teaching being delivered.
The Lesson Type tab allows you to view configured Lesson types for your organisation. Each lesson type has a set of parameters that determines how Early a student can check in, when they would be classed as Late, and at what point they will be classed as Absent.
Instructions
- Log into the Admin site
- Select Lesson Type
- Select and open the required Lesson Type
- Navigate to the Is Absence Based on Start field
- Make the required change by selecting/unselecting the box and defining the Absence Cut Off in number of minutes
- Click Save
This determines if the Absence Cut Off is calculated from the start or end time of the class:
- If Is Absence Based on Start is selected, the Absence Cut Off is calculated at the defined number of minutes after the start of the lecture - If Is Absence Based on Start is deselected, the Absence Cut Off is calculated at a defined number of minutes before the end of the lecture
Example: Box deselected with a value of 1 in Absence Cut Off means students have up to 1 minute before the event ends before they are marked as Absent, for the lesson type 'Lecture'.
