The SEAtS Signals Logical Entity Relationship diagram is a visual representation of the primary relationships and key value dependencies between interface files (signal) entities.
An Entity Relationship Diagram lets you see how different entities relate to each other in an application or database. In the case of SEAtS, this shows how the data imported in the Student file links to the data from the Timetable file, Assessment data, Custom Field data, and so on.
The Student Data — which is the collection of information that identifies and describes each student — is the master data. This includes: - Personal details: name, date of birth, contact information, nationality or visa status, disability information - Academic details: enrolment status, programme of study, modules, mode of attendance, etc.
Where a relationship exists between signals in the Student Data and other entities, the associated value must be an exact match to that which exists in the Student Data File (or a historical value).
