This guide explains how you can customise within the SEAtS Application to rename labels and terminology.

The SEAtS solution allows for end-user configuration across a number of components to promote customisation. This includes the ability to rename field labels and other terminology throughout the SEAtS user interface to reflect terminology used within your institution and/or region.

Instructions

Log into the Admin site. Find Settings on the menu ribbon to access customisation fields.

Click Resources within the Settings screen.

📝 Note: Access to the Resources tab is controlled through permissions in Admin Site access = Resources, where Access allows you to view the page and Edit allows you to amend fields.

Start typing into the Text field to search for the term you wish to change. As you begin to type, results will be displayed — or you can click the magnifying glass Search icon to return all results.

📝 Note: Searching will only return items on the basis of the Text column, not the Key column.

Click your selection. A new modal with the resource is presented. Type the new term to be used in the Text field, deleting any existing content.

📝 Note: The Key label cannot be changed.

Click Save. A system banner will display to show a successful change message.

Tip: Changes made in resources may not be visible in the application until the following day, once overnight application synchronisation jobs have run.

Removing the term 'Optional' from Student View

The General Resource Optional is displayed in the student calendar when a non-mandatory teaching event is scheduled. To remove the Optional wording, search for the term Optional in the Text field, click into the item, delete the text in the Text field, and click Save. Any events scheduled will have the word Optional removed.
