This guide explains how to define the attendance type associated to an absence or activity in SEAtS.
Permissions
Access to edit an Activity Type is controlled by access profile permission: Admin Website > Scheduled Activity Type > Access and Edit.
Instructions
Navigate to the Activity Types page. Access Settings in the Admin site and click on the Activity Types tab.
Edit an already existing Activity or Absence Type by selecting it.
In the details page, make sure 'Act as Attended' is ticked.
📝 Note: If 'Act as Attended' is left unticked, when an absence or activity type is applied to a student, any scheduled event within that period will still expect a check-in from that student. So if they don't check in, they will be marked as absent.
A dropdown named 'Associated Attendance Type' will appear at the bottom. You can select from a number of options:
- MarkedAsAbsent: will mark the student as Absent for any events during the period of the absence/activity -.
- MarkedAsLate: will mark the student as Late for any events scheduled during the duration of the absence or activity -.
- MarkedAsAttended: will mark the student as Attended in the event automatically -.
- AuthorisedAbsent: will appear as its own status type in the scheduled event. By default, it will positively influence workflow/attendance statistics.
Once you are happy with your selection, press Save to confirm the change.
