This guide explains how to automatically approve specific absence types in SEAtS.

Permissions

Access to edit an Activity Type is controlled by access profile permission: Admin Website > Scheduled Activity Type > Access and Edit.

Instructions

Navigate to the Activity Types page. Access Settings in the Admin site and click on the Activity Types tab.

Select an already existing Absence Type that requires approval.

In the Absence Type details page, untick the 'Requires Approval' checkbox.

📝 Note: Bear in mind the 'Access Level' of the Absence Type when considering having it automatically approved. Having 'Requires Approval' unticked and 'Access Level' set to Students means that students will be able to apply the absence without approval.

Press Save to confirm the change. When a user applies this Absence Type, it will now be automatically approved.

📝 Note: Consideration should also be applied to use of the Associated Attendance Type field. Use this to define how to treat the absence type in attendance calculations.
