This guide explains how to change the details of an existing Device in SEAtS using the admin website.

Permissions

The Edit Devices functionality is controlled by access profile permission: Admin Website > Devices > Access and Edit.

Find the Device

    • Navigate to the Devices tab in the Admin menu
    • Use the search field to find the device (the search field is not case-sensitive)
    • Press the Search button to run the search — the search phrase is searched across all input fields
    • Each field can be sorted ascending or descending by clicking on the column header
    • Tick "Include Out of Service Devices" to display deactivated devices

    Edit the Device

      • Click on the Device you wish to edit
      • Existing device data will be displayed
      • Data such as Description, Serial Number, and Asset Tag can be changed or removed
      📝 Note: The Serial Number is a mandatory field and cannot be left empty.

      Activate or Deactivate the Device

      Toggle the "Is Active" box to activate or deactivate the device.

      Change Room Association

      - To assign a Room to the Device, enter the Room into the "Add Rooms" field and click Add - Multiple rooms can be assigned to a Device (this is the case for QR and GPS devices) - Rooms can be unassigned by ticking the checkbox next to the specific Room(s) and clicking Delete

      Tip: Assigning a Room requires at least one Room to have been created first.

      Save Changes

      Click the Save button to save changes. Clicking Cancel will not save any changes and will take you back to the Devices menu.
