This guide explains how to delete or deactivate an existing Device in SEAtS using the admin website.

📝 Note: Devices with associations to any swipes or rooms cannot be deleted. This guide is primarily for devices created in error or that have not had any use.

Permissions

The Edit Devices functionality is controlled by access profile permission: Admin Website > Devices > Access, Delete, and Edit (Edit permission is used for deactivating the device).

Find the Device

    • Navigate to the Devices tab in the Admin menu
    • Use the search field to find the device (not case-sensitive)
    • Tick "Include Out of Service Devices" to display deactivated devices

    Delete a Device

      • Select the Device(s) you wish to delete by clicking the checkbox next to them (multiple can be chosen)
      • Press the Delete button above the list
      • A pop-up will appear for confirmation
      • Confirm to delete the selected Device(s)

      Deactivate a Device

        • Click on the specific device to edit it
        • Uncheck the box next to "Is Active"
        • Press Save

        After saving, the Device will be deactivated and no longer active.
