Overview

This guide explains how to open and close a Case in SEAtS from the Home Dashboard or the individual Student Profile screen. Cases can be opened automatically by workflow configurations or manually by appropriate users. Closing a case stops the intervention, preventing any further actions.

Permissions

Opening: SEAtS Website > Students > Access, Open Case, Focus: Students, Student Profile; and SEAtS Website > Manual Intervention > Access. Closing: SEAtS Website > Manual Intervention > Access and Close Manual Intervention.

Creating a Case from the Home Page

  1. Click Home to display the list of students.
  2. Use filters and/or search to find the appropriate student.
  3. Tick the checkbox next to the student and click Open Case.
  4. Select an intervention type from the list of pre-configured options.
  5. Assign to a team or individual from the Assign To dropdown.
  6. Add any comments about the case.
  7. Click Save.
  8. A green banner confirms the case was created.

Creating a Case from the Student Profile

Search for and open the relevant Student Profile, click Open Case, fill in the case information, and save.

Closing a Case (Student Profile)

Navigate to the Cases tab in the Student Profile, find the case, and click Close at the end of the row. Add a comment if needed and click Save.

Closing a Case (Cases Page)

Navigate to the Cases page, select the case(s), click Close Intervention above the list, add optional comments, and click Close.
