Overview
A link to class material or a virtual meeting can be added to scheduled events in SEAtS. Use cases include recordings (Audio/Video), meeting links (Zoom/MS Teams), or links to online reading material. The link can be added via import or via the main SEAtS site.
Permissions
Controlled by: SEAtS Website > Lectures > eAttend, SEAtS Website > Student Calendar > eAttend, SEAtS Website > Students > eAttend, and Mobile App Site > Class Link.
Via the Main SEAtS Site
- Add a new class or edit an existing class in the Lectures dashboard.
- Add the relevant URL to the Class Link field.
- For recurring events (Scheduler), click Edit Class Instances to add different Class Links per event.
- Also consider the Virtual Attendance field (see below).
- Click Save.
Via Import
Add the URL to the CLASSLINK column in the Full Student Timetable data import file. Ensure the link is correct with no spaces or additional characters. Also consider the VIRTUAL_ATTENDANCE column.
Virtual Attendance Field
For reference material only, leave Virtual Attendance blank. If attendance updates are required when a student clicks the link, set Virtual Attendance to checked/Y. The student's status will update to Marked As Attended on clicking the link.
For Zoom events, an additional configuration can be enabled so that the Zoom link works with lesson type cut-off settings — students clicking after the late threshold are marked Late; after the absence threshold, they are marked Absent. Contact your SEAtS Implementation Consultant to enable this.
Time-bound Link Visibility
An optional configuration links link visibility to lesson type cut-off times. For example, if the early cut-off is 10 minutes before and absence is 10 minutes after the start, the link will only be visible within that window. Contact SEAtS to enable this.
